Dress from Within

Deep down inside, every woman is a princess and every man is a hero.  Even if her crown and precious jewels have been misplaced or his shining sword and shield is dingy and dented.   In our society we spend mega millions to fix ourselves up on the outside.  It's almost as if we know there is something brilliant and captivating inside, waiting to be released from a cage of routine and mundane life.  But because we are afraid of ourselves and others, we keep the truth hidden and play dress-up for the world.
This is why fashion is so relevant to our culture.  With it, we speak volumes without using words.  The problem is, that most often, we're telling lies.  This is why we can encounter a drop-dead-gorgeous woman and be turned off by her attitude.  And in the same way encounter a woman that might not ever be on a magazine cover and yet radiates beauty.  Just the same is a man in a tailored suit and tie, fresh from the Barber, and yet possesses a shadow of selfishness and greed, while a man in basic blue jeans and white t-shirt can be an image of honor and valor.  The true secret to beauty is the condition of the soul.  So why not Dress from Within?
What do I mean?  Take a moment and reflect on what your soul would look like to others if it were visible.  Would people see breaks, cracks, war, rags and ashes?  Or would they see, wholeness, vibrancy, peace, life, love and laughter?  It matters little what you look like on the outside if the presence that you bring is a mix-match.

So F.Y.I. before you get dressed in the morning.......
                                      1)  Take time to be at peace with yourself  (process your emotions)
                                      2)  Put yourself (health and well being) on your priority list
                                      3)  Let go of prior offense (they tend to crowd the heart and weigh you down)
A person carrying offense often bows the shoulders and lacks good posture.
An easy way to remember this is STOP--DROP--and ROLL.
Stop what you're doing when aggravation arises.  Chose to drop the negative
feelings.  And let the offense roll away and not haunt you.
                                      4)  Refresh your mind with good thoughts by keeping a journal of noteworthy
                                             happenings both great and small.
                                      5)  Believe that you are a gift to our world

When you have first dressed from within, people will see and believe what you already know.
You are a Princess.  You are a Hero.  You are Brilliant.  You are Beautiful.  You are Captivating.
