A Fashionable way to Live

          It's no secret that Americans live in a fast moving society.  We like everything on the go.  And we have devices to help us to do more on the go.  Since the invention of the light bulb our days have been made longer because we no longer have the constraints of the setting sun.  Though our bodies seem to adjust,  for some, the fast pace has also sped up the aging process.  Thanks to make up, we can cover up those dark circles and facial wrinkles that give away our level of fatigue and neglect of a normal rest cycle.  Even plastic surgery can alter the aging process, giving people a hot body with an old pair of eyes.  The eyes don't lie.  But I believe the fountain of youth is partially hidden in the age-old concept of Beauty sleep.
         When we sleep our body naturally heals itself. It's healthy for our physical bodies, emotions, and it promotes longevity.  I've also read that lack of sleep is linked to serious medical conditions, diseases, and early mortality.   It can cause memory loss, high blood pressure, inflammation and even weight problems.  I don't care how well dressed you are, if you are a frazzled mess of a human being, with mood swings and a heart attack waiting to happen, you're not going to be very attractive.
          And I'm sure I'm not alone in my distaste of wrinkles.  I don't like them on my clothes and I don't like them on my face.  When I get a full nights rest I wake up glowing.  My eyes sparkle, and everything is in its right place.  When I lack sleep, it seems like every thing is dragging just like that song "do your ears hang low".   There are days when my eyes, ears, shoulders and everything in between is hanging low.  And in the words of a dear friend of mine, I was  "draggin booty".  I look in the mirror and I look old and feel old and then start to act old.  But with a good rest or even a mid day nap, I'm like an energetic bunny.  You see, clothing only enhances the person within them.  If you're walking around like a zombie, you'll just be a well dressed zombie.  So  next time you're making out your schedule, make room for Beauty sleep.
